Longing

Today has been one of those days where I just long to be home. I miss my friends and family and I am so excited to get to live life with them again in about 4 months.

And as these thoughts consume my mind, I know that when I get back home I will have days where I long to be back in the Philippines. Basically, I'm learning that I may never be 100% satisfied with where I physically am. And I think that's ok. :)

I long for these two worlds I now have to collide. This is going to require the proclamation of the Gospel to all people, leading to a new heaven and a new earth. The day when Christ's church is fully unified and God himself dwells with us. The day when differences and location don't matter. The day when we get to experience our Creator and His creation to it's fullest... in a way that we can't even begin to imagine!

At church this morning I was so encouraged by this passage:

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall their be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'"
Revelation 21:1-4

I believe that many others experience these same feelings and I pray this passage can encourage you today as well.

To live is Christ, to die is gain.
